Prohibited & Restricted Items

For the safety of our staff, our customers, and the general public, the following items are strictly prohibited from being shipped through Optime. Attempting to ship prohibited items may result in shipment seizure, fines, or legal action.

This list applies to all service types including Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Road Freight. Additional restrictions may apply based on the destination country's laws and regulations.

Universally Prohibited Items

• Explosives & Ammunition
  Fireworks, flares, detonators, dynamite, gunpowder, ammunition of any kind, and any explosive devices.
• Flammable Liquids & Gases
  Petrol, diesel, lighter fluid, aerosol cans with flammable propellants, butane, propane, and other compressed gases.
• Toxic & Poisonous Substances
  Pesticides, herbicides, cyanide, arsenic, mercury, and any chemical classified as toxic under IATA/IMO regulations.
• Radioactive Materials
  Any materials containing radioactive isotopes, including medical isotopes, without proper certification and handling arrangements.
• Narcotics & Illegal Drugs
  Any controlled substances, illegal drugs, or drug paraphernalia as defined by international and local law.
• Weapons & Firearms
  Guns, knives (beyond a certain length), swords, tasers, pepper spray, and any item designed to cause harm.
• Counterfeit & Pirated Goods
  Fake branded products, pirated software, counterfeit currency, and any goods that violate intellectual property rights.
• Human Remains
  Including ashes, unless special arrangements have been made and all regulatory requirements are met.
• Live Animals
  Live animals of any kind, unless shipped via an authorized specialized service with proper documentation.
• Corrosive Materials
  Acids, alkalis, wet-cell batteries, and items that can cause damage to other goods or transport equipment.

Restricted Items (Require Special Approval)

The following items may be shipped under specific conditions, but require prior approval from Optime and may need additional documentation, packaging, or insurance:

• Lithium Batteries
  Must comply with IATA packing instructions (PI965-PI970). Standalone lithium batteries require hazardous goods documentation.
• Perishable Goods
  Fresh food, flowers, and temperature-sensitive items require cold chain packaging and expedited shipping.
• High-Value Items
  Jewellery, precious metals, antiques, and artwork require declared value, additional insurance, and secure handling.
• Pharmaceutical Products
  Prescription medications and medical devices must include proper permits. Controlled substances are not accepted.
• Alcohol & Tobacco
  Subject to destination country regulations. Requires valid export/import licenses and proper labelling.
• Magnetic Materials
  Items with strong magnetic fields can interfere with aircraft navigation. Special packaging and labelling required.
